Hi,

I have a 351w with World Sr heads, Comp Cams Extreme Energy 268 camshaft, headers, 3k converter etc in my 71 LTD convertible (4900 lbs with driver). Currently running 14.2 in the quarter with 4.68 gears and spinning about 6200 RPM through the traps. I recently picked up a B&M 162 CID blower and will be running 6-8 lbs of boost. I'll need to add a scoop of some sort to clear the blower. I can't find any fiberglass scoops that would look good on this car and was considering a Hilborn style scoop, but I'm concerned about airflow requirements of the blower setup. Will the Hilborn scoop with its tiny air filters allow enough airflow to feed the engine and blower at moderately high RPM's? It seems like lots of people stick the Hilborn's on dual carbed 671's and 871's, but usually the cars are trailer queens. Suggestions and experiences would be appreciated.

Personally, the Hilborn style works fine. To help though, go with a set of K&N's for it.
