I have seen engine rules in the racing circles (pun intended) where race engines in circle track are allowed a max compression of 9:1 or 9.5:1. The roller cam profiles seem very large for that compression. How is it done, special lobes, intakes, etc? How do they make big horsepower with such low compression? Could that philosophy be applied to 1/4 mile drag engines, i.e. small block Fords?
