I've got a lead on a genuine T-5 "Z" transmission out of a '93 Cobra Mustang. This is supposedly the toughest factory T-5 built for Ford. I am building a 393 cubic inch stroker for street purposes, and expect it to pump out about 500 ft lbs of torque and 500 hp. Can the T-5 "Z" take it?

probably not for very long, unless you baby the trans. The way I see it if you gotta baby the trans then an automatic is better...just my opinion though.

Thanks you guys. I have been told basically the same thing..."If you don't powershift it, and get a good aftermarket shifter, it should hold up...". A lot of "ifs".
