I know that somewhere in the archives there is a list of ways to make your T-5 stronger. The T5 i have is the one that only handles up to 265 tourqe. How can i get it to the 300, or even more? Can i just buy a rebuild kit off of like e-bay and put that in? Would that make it stronger? Use one of the 90 and up rebuild kits? Thanks for any help.

Short of a rebuild to t5 specs, a steel bearing retainer is one of the best things you can do. The aluminum one wears much too quickly. An aftermarket shifter with adjustable, positive stops is essential to prevent overshifting (bent or broken shift rods.) Finally, a lot of people recommend synthetic lubricant in place of the factory mercon.

FXcomet is right, aftermarket synthetic tranny fluid is what to run in a T5,I also reccomend a B&M Ripper shifter, installed one in my 89 and DAMN what a difference, also only took 45 minutes to put in with simple hand tools.cheapest place I found the ripper is at Summit,164.95 plus shipping
