The car has some rust but overall it's in pretty good condition. It had a straight axle in front but it is now gone. There is no motor or trans either. Basically it is a shell. The seat are all there. The dash is there but the cluster is gone.
Actually it looked pretty funny because the tire stuck out the sides. I measured it and it's the right dimensions for the 68. I looked up the third member and it's not the "WAR" casting which is good. But I don't think it's the desirable one with nickel either. Here is a website that is very helpful:
The rear end went to the driveline specialist today. I will know exactly what's inside on Wednesday. Hopefully it is a traction lock and not a welded spool. I am also crossing my fingers that the axles are good. He said his cost is $400 for a good pair. The whole thing will be rebuilt with 411's. Then it will get sandblasted and powdercoated black. What do you think will look better, black or silver for the rear end?
