Does anyone have recommendations on setting my advance curve? I'd like to get a feel for where to start when I dig into my Accel distributor. With the spring kit I got, they show both single stage and two stage advance based on the springs which are used. The info in the MyCars section is current, and I'm looking to tune for maximum performance at the dragstrip.

Set the inital timing (Vac. adv off) with a vacuum guage (look for highest vac). Drive the car and observe where (RPM)it pings. If it does, add springs to slow the advance rate or take them off if no pinging is heard. Its just a matter of trial and error. Then reconnect your vac. adv. and fine tune it for smooth light throttle acceleration.
