Yes. The circuit is completed by grounding through the distributor > block > (–) cable > BATT (–). Grounding is through the distributor plate, but primarily the little bare grounding wire to the distributor body.
I should have been more specific. When i say ignition module, i am referring to the gray box that connect to coil and distriutor. Brain box? does this have to be bolted down / grounded for the engine to turn over?
Now i'm also wondering if what i have is correct. It came with car, no motor and was told it had a 351 last. I have a 390 and have used it to run engine on break in and had engine running this weekend. Now it won't start.
I'm chasing electrical issuses and trying to eliminate everything i didn't purchase.
