I want to buy a 302 for my 64 Fairlane since my 289 is trash, but most of the 302's for sale are fuel injected. Is it possible to make a 302 carbureted by just puting a intake and carb on it or is there some kind of kit?

Change the oil pan to a front sump pan, the one on your 289 will work. And your oilpump pickup.

If your not going to run a electric fuel pump, you will need to use your timing cover and fuel pump ecentric, fuel pump from your 289.

If it's a later model HO motor you will need to change your 289 distributer gear also to work with the HO cam gear.

That should cover it.

FE meant to tell you that stuff.

You will need your timing cover for the dipstick tube and retaining your water pump (std rotation). If running a mechanical fuel pump changing the dowel pin in the cam may be required to engage the cup properly. Some fead mounting holes in the front of the heads might be different. The locations havent changed the bolt size on at least one has.
