Had to add 240 lbs of ballast and fill the tank darn near full to slow the car down to 11.50. Also limited the throttle to less than 3/4 open. 60 foot on this one was 1.51.

Did you notice any difference in the 60's with the added weight?

Wow!!! Where did you put that weight? In the right rear corner? Thats some chassis twist there. I also heard you broke something today too.

Here is a photo of mine at Kennedale today.

Dang, Tony, word travels fast around these parts....lol....

Yep, I did break something:

But it's cool, no extra damage. There was 160 lbs in the driver's side trunk, and 80 lbs in the center of the trunk....

Mike,

That run went 11.39! lol..... I forgot to tell you that I was letting off the gas 30 feet before the first mph light at the big end to get it down to 11.50...

Time slip showed 7.004 @ 97 at the 660, and 11.52 at 92 at the big end...lol...

The car went 11.04 at 122 with me screwing up the 2-3 shift and no ballast.

Be sure and take that shaft to Inland and let them check it out good before you reuse it.

I ribbed you over in the other forum (tranny talk) .... you, me, and some others need to have a cage party so we can be 'legal'.

You can still get booted for under 7.49 (1/
and 11.50 (1/4) 'cause they know you're sandbaggin'.

I think Econodrag said he'd do our cars for free..

LMAO... Allenman. I do not know about that, but I will offer the use of the shop. Just get a kit and it can be done in a weekend or two.

Jeeze, that's really moving for such a big car. Judging from the signature pic you usually post I thought it was just another pretty face not a low 11 second ride. Guess the Edge converter does work, huh?

Watching the video and then looking at the picture I'd guess your pinion angle must have been really acute, hence the failure. The car is working really well given the suspension setup. On top of the cage I think I see a set Calvert or Slide-a-link bars in your future. They would really square up the launch.

If I may what are the specs on your converter? I have a generic 10" in the AOD I'm running and it doesn't hit nearly that hard.

I have done a TON of work to the leaf springs to help the launch. This is probably the 4th or 5th incarnation of springs on the car THIS YEAR...lol...

No cal tracs for me, just more spring work, and some good adjustable shocks.

I am running a 9.5" Edge custom converter. It stalls somewhere around 3500 rpm. The launch is helped by a wide ratio gearset in the C6.

It launches harder now with the 3.89's than it did with the 4.56's believe it or not.

As for the driveshaft, there was pre-existing surface damage to both ears. Unfortunately, I never noticed this when I had this driveshaft built. Too bad, I would have had them redo the shaft had I spotted the damage back then.

Greg

And econodrag, I didn't know you were around Kennedale. I'd like to see that car run someday.
