i have a stock fuel pump on the motor in my signature.....i had a slightly smaller hydraulic cam in it b4 and it seemed to pull just fine......since i changed the cam it seems to not pull like it use too......i also put some ET streets on it too... would the traction cause the motor to work harder and need more fuel than that pump can put out?????

Either the fuel pump isn't enough anymore or the stock 5/16 fuel line is no longer enough either.....or both.
I would go with an electic pump and at least 3/8 fuel line from tank to carb.

If you run the carb out of fuel the car will nose over big time. you will know you ran it out of gas.
You need to describe better your problem.
Maybe your cam makes it power higher in the rpm band now compared to old cam?
I ran a stock line on my 351w and 393w in the 1/8 mile with a 750 dp.
It never ran out of fuel. Maybe like stated above you might want to check for a kink in the fuel line.

I defintely experienced a problem with 5/16" fuel line in the past, and this was with a Carter hi-volume fuel pump. After my engine rebuild I didn't see the issue and was able to run a full 1/4-mile witout a problem. However, I made some changes one winter (installed a windage tray, electric water pump, electric fan, and replaced the 2.25" exhaust with 2.5" exhaust). It was now starting to die out right after shifting to 3rd gear while running through the gears WOT. This was fixed when I converted to 3/8" fuel line.

I was also amazed at how many bends and turns the original fuel line made from the tank to the engine. The fuel delivery must have been marginal the whole time but only became an issue when I made enough power to run the float bowls dry.
