Started tearing down the 306 today and when I pulled the head off the drivers side I noticed antifreeze leaking out of this little hole in the deck surface. It is not quite a complete hole but its like 80% of a circle is cut out.The opposite side cylinder bank doesn't have it...

I'm talking about the tiny little spot where anti-freeze is running down the deck surface. The bolt hole is full of anti-freeze just from it leaking out of the coolant passage above it when I pulled the head.

If you look closely you'll see that this is a small rod that is in the hole. Looking through the frost plug holes you can see them running vertical inside the water jacket. Those are placed there at the foundry to hold the mold together. Again, nothing to worry about as the gasket seals them off.
