I was able to get disk brakes & spindle from this Maverick, but according this VIN number, I did not think they had disk brakes in 73. The car was a 4 door Inline 6 with auto. Maybe some swaped them out.

Disc brakes were on Mercedes back in the early 60's and probably earlier than that...

3= 1973
P= assembly plant (Twin Cities)
51=****** Nothing made for Maverick... Code 91 = Maverick 2 dr sedan and 31= Merc Comet 2 door sedan.

So you either have the wrong numbers written down or you dont' have a maverick Vin.

1973 meaning Maverick 1973! I am well aware that there were disk brakes before 1973.

That's a Comet door bro. Check that Vin to teh Inner Fender or the Dash or wherever you can find the body side vin.

I will be going back to the yard and double check the VIN. Either the door or the truck was replaced. The trunk had Maverick on it.
