I got bored and come up with this build sheet, what yall think?

327 Build
Bottom End;
Bore: 4.030"
Stroke: 3.200"
Crankshaft: Australian 302 Cleveland
Rod type & Length: Eagle 5.400"
Rod Ratio: 1.69:1
Pistons: Nowak
Rings: Childs & Albert or Speed-pro
Bearings: Clevite 77
Max RPM: 7500
Max HP: 550
Approx. Price: $2500.00
Comments: Good street/strip kit that can take nitrous and supercharging
Top End;
Heads: 2v 351 Cleveland Or AFR 185s
Intake: Torker 2
Cam: Comp Cams Thumper series
Cam Adv. Dur.: 299*/319*

Not a 'dream build' just throwing together sumthing as i was flippin through a book. lol

Must have been an old book/catalog because your dream pricing is just that, a dream. The AFR heads alone are going to eat up a large portion of that $2,500 budget. Also, the 650 carb, intake (and what's a Torker II?) and cam aren't going to support 550 HP nor 7500 RPM.

I'd talk to an engine builder if you're at all serious about a new build. I understand it's your dream build so I'm not trying to be a jerk, but this combo needs some more thought or you'll be spending more money trying to fix it.

$800 to $1000 for a Stroker kit.
$1000+ for your AFR's unless you find some used ones for a good price.
Machine work and cam, your over budget.

Then you need a better intake and all the little pieces.

Not 'dream build' just 'bored build' but yes sir my books are alil old, one from 03 (How to build big-inch ford smallblocks) the other is from '98 (high performance ford parts interchange)

That explains a lot. Books on engine building that are 9 and 12 years old are ancient technology at best. Sure, it worked great back then so why change it? Engine building, especially on strokers has come a long way even in the past few years. Most are going with 331 or 347 c.i. small blocks these days along with roller cams and much better intakes than the Edlebrock Torkers.

Keep playing, but get some newer reference books. :D The combinations are almost endless these days.
