Can someone help pls. I’ve converted all lights on my ‘69 Fastback to LED’s. Tried using signal lights but no joy. Chanted out the relays (signal and 4 ways) and still nothing.
Anyone had this problem? If no suggestions I’m going to have to trace back all wires from each light….. huge pain in the you know where!
Thanks for any insights.

Can't see from here how you wired, if you used polarized LEDs, full electronic flash control, etc. A bit short on info to analyze. ;) If you only swapped flashers and bulbs to LEDs, just say so.

That said, have you tested each component? With bulbs on new flasher relays first, and then replace bulbs with LEDs one-at-a-time? If so, and no joy, where is the power stopping (flasher, socket, ground, etc)?

[EDIT] I mention testing each component, as on my last LED conversion the bulbs were defective, and internally wired in reverse-polarity. With V+ on the base nibs, and ground on the body, it should light. Nope. Wired backwards, they did. :cautious: Sent back as defective. I've heard similar for the electronic flashers, though not seen it myself. There are many minor issues to check, such as some flashers requiring a separate ground wire. Is that ground good? Check everything. The power is stopping somewhere. Find where that is and you have your fix.

Yes that’s exactly what I did was to just change the flashers and bulbs, this based on info from a local parts dealer.
I thought it was fairly clear that that’s all that I did from my original post. I didn’t know there was such a thing as polarized LED’s or full electronic flash control so thanks for the heads up on that.

I haven’t tested each component. I guess that’s the next step. The flashers I bought DO require the ground and I have them grounded.
I’ll post here once I’m done testing.
Thanks for the info!

Hello CaptB777,

I've run into this problem especially on Fords. Let me guess the new electronic flasher you bought plugged right into the L shaped plug as the old thermal one? Then you grounded the little wire coming off it and they do not flash? Simple, reverse the wires in the original L plug or in the integrated fuse block and try it again. Every darn Ford from a 1966 to 1986 Ford with an LED conversion has had the same problem with me. I removed the terminals from the plastic L connector (60's models) or fuse block and reinserted them reverse as to what they were and problem solved. The electronic flasher needs B+ on a specific terminal and Fords have it reversed as the old thermal flasher does not care which wire goes on what terminal of it.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
