Hi again helpful forum folks...

I need some advice/opinions... I have a 67 Fairlane with ONLY some light surface rust (and not too much of that--thankfully). I am not going to get to paint it for 6-12 months and I want to get that stopped before it gets very destructive...

I have seen the rust converter, but most of this would come near all the way off with steel wool, but I dont want to leave any naked steel laying about...

What would you all recommend?

thanks in advance

I wouldn't use rust converter, you'd just be making more work for yourself later. Like FE said, you need to sand it and seal it. I would just prime it since it's temporary.
