Going to look at a 2000 mustang V-6, automatic tomorrow. It has a Mac cat-back exhaust and a Winstar intake. I have a few questions that I hope somebody can answer.

First, how reliable are the Ford V-6 engines and 4 speed autos? It has 117k miles.

Second, is the Winstar intake upgrade making any performance difference?
What are some of the things about this year mustang and drivetrain that I should know about, if any?

What about the V-6 trannys? Are they trouble free? Automatics scare me for some reason. Usually, when someone has a tranny go bad, it's an automatic it seems.

Well auto's aren't though of as a maintenance unit simply because people are retarded and forget what makes their cars move.

The V6 Tranny is likely a C5, and they're just like a C 4 but different. All tranies will treat you good if you keep them cool with a good fluid cooler and keep them clean by replacing the fluid every two years.
