I've got a '63.5 Galaxie fastback, ReBuilt 352 2V, Auto Trans (CruisoMatic), Single exhaust. C8AE-H heads. Edelbrock waterpump. pretty tame and stock for now.

I'm looking to get this beast moving a bit better, and I was going to start with a 4BBl intake and carb. I'm looking at the Blue Thunder MR 4V for this application. I'll also be adding a 600CFM carb.

My question is is this going to end up being too much intake for a 352? I was looking at the BT for it's supposed good match to the C8ae heads and the period correct look. This is going to be a streetable car, that I want to take out for an occasional run down the 1/4.

Future plans are for a Cam swap, shorty headers, and dual exhaust. Fuel system upgrade. Got a new fuel sender on the way from Crites with the 3/8 outlet. Will be upsizing to 3/8 from fron to rear, and I am going to upgrade the fuel pump as well.

Another question. Those of you who have swapped from 2V to 4V, what was a bugger about the throttle linkage swap. Should I go cable activated, or find a donor for the stock linkage?

As always thanks for the help

you got all the answers you need over at the feforum, i will add one thing though, you may wanna consider upgrading to a 390. i was faced with a similar desicion with my mill and i went with the 390. just saying beacause after all that work your talking about(cam, intake, headers) may be easier and not much more to do a engine swap. go to a junkyard find a 390 there a dime a dozen, build the motor up how you want, meanwhile you can leave the 352 to do it thing in the car so that your not down. its worth it for the extra cubes and extra strength youll gain. im glad i did and actually wish i woulda went bigger, lol. trust me its never enough youll always be thinking what can i do next to make it faster?

Thanks west coast. That of course was another thought of mine. I know in the long run, I'm gonna want more cubes. I was just thinking i'd make these mods for now, and continue to upgrade later. Hadn't really thought about leaving the 352 in her so I had a runner. I didn't want the ol' gal down for that long. I guess I figured I'd be putting the 352 in as a core for the 390.

Good suggestion though. I'm just getting antsy about doing performance mods to this thing to wake it up. Just don't want to do it more than 3 times
if I don't have to.

Thanks

yup know what you mean, i started out with just wanna rebuild the 352 so it doesnt smoke, then went to the 390 route after i found a crack in the 352's block. well after alot of thought and getting together what i thought was gonna be a mild 390 with some grunt, i soon realized that there was alot more to be had with a 390. dont get me wrong she hauls ass for being a 2ton plus car, but i now wanna up the cam and do some head work. so that means damn near rebulding the whole motor(i also wanna put a better oil pan in) so im kicking myself for not doing it right the first time. now i know where i wanna go with the ol gal and its not a drag car, so with the mods in mind i know i should be about where i wanna be. ill save the big cube high horse power mill for a real drag car, a FE powered falcon! guess what im trying to say is look at the big pic, see where ya wanna be and then see what the most practical way to get there is gonna be. not to mention doing motor work like a cam swap is so much easier out of the car than in. oh and a note on that core fee, the 352's rotating assy is different than the 390's so dont know that that ol 352 is gonna be worth much for a core.
