Hi guys. I am in the process of rounding up parts for my 393 project. It is going to be biased toward torque rather than high rpm HP. With the cam I am looking at I do not expect to exceed 5500rpm. Is a main stud girdle recommended here or will some good quality main studs or bolts suffice?
Thanks,
Kywookie

If you're not going to rev it up much, you should be fine with the stock 351W block, and for extra insurance, 4 bolt mains. The girdle would be considered overkill for your usage.

Cheap insurance for the money, tho. (plus it looks cool, and you can tell all your buds you've got a girdle on it).....
