My name is Bill and I'm a bit of a nut. I'm not anti-purist, just a guy that believes in "to each there own".
So with that said... Is this a place for me and my birds or should I find a different forum to annoy?

For the record, my birds consist of 'Sally, my 65 289 Futura wagon, and "Coop" my L6 TOTT, 65 Tudor Sedan carcass. Neither will remain stock, or even close.

Not looking at stepping on anybodies toes... Can't tell I'm a Facebook survivor can ya? "Shellshocked"

Welcome. Count me in when we are talking swaps. I love the old sheetmetal with the newer technology. I like to tinker and figure out problems too. I quit Facebook not long after they went public. Too much maintenance making sure my "friends" had correct settings to view or not view other friends, and it always seemed like my activity was being seeded and harvested.

I like this forum because it does what it is supposed to do and nothing else.

Good to know... Ill start postimg some pics and ideas soon then. The Tudor we call "Coop" came to me as a trailer project for 'Sally. After she arrived and I looked over the soda blasted carcass, I decided keep her and turn her into a super light weight and quick street legal toy. I already have several other oddball Fords, some stupidly fast and others that were a "Hold my Diet Dr.Pepper" moment.
So this thread will be all about Coop, and we will see how that goes. If things stay to the positive end of the spectrum, I'll start a second thread on 'Sally,

Coop will be running a four link rear with a mini tub and Viking double adjustable coil-overs attached to a 2000 Explorer 8.8 31 spline, disk braked 3.73 LSD narrowed to stock Falcon specs. As its a parallel setup A panhard will also be in the mix. Her front suspension will consist of a modified CPP mini subframe system running tubular A-arms, a 1" Addco swaybar, and Viking D/A coilovers. Power will be supplied by a 2.3T from a late model Mustang as well as a World Class T5. Clutch duties will be handled by a "King Cobra" clutch and Mustang Steve cable clutch setup. Front braking will be accomplished by Mustang 13.2" front disks on 67 Cougar spindles.

Why a turbo four banger and T5? It hasn't been done before, and all my other old iron have a V8 of some sort or another... wanted to do something fresh. There have been a couple close builds, but none using this engine / trans combo that I am aware of. I'll be keepin the OEM EFI and PCM so a wire diet and EFI tank/fuel system are in order.
So @ less than 2400#s and 340HP / 360tq Coop should be a fun little screamer.

Interior will consist of a full gauge set in custom dash bezel, new carpet, custom door panels, rear seat delete and Scat racing buckets. The interior will be caged, with a full front cowl bar and front struts, rear struts into the frame rails, and a harness bar. As I am a fat ass, she will have a shortened column, quick ratio manual box and steering wheel quick release from Strange.

The body will be severely altered as it is mostly tetanus lace at the moment. New floors, trunk, quarters, fenders, trunk lid, and radiator support are needed, so I'm gonna "DIY" some new panels and hope for the best.

Due to the brake size she will be running 18s front and rear with a bit of lip in to the rears.

Any suggestions, feel free to drop them below... Please keep it civil if y'all don't mind.

Welcome Bill, My name's Todd. I am also a newbie here. I enjoy working on Fords of all genre myself. I have a few irons in the fire but the one of relevance to your post is a 1965 Ford Ranchero Deluxe. I purchased it running/ driving off Ebay in 2005, Had it shipped from Gunnison Colorado to my hometown here in Wynantskill NY including delivery for $3,650.00. Countless hours (and Dollars) later she is nearing completion. I hope to have "Jennifer" done this spring. I still haven't got the picture thing figured out completely.

Thanks, My next door neighbor is the body guy, I let him pick the color for the car and he did the double ghost flame job as a surprise. I love it. Although I spent my childhood in a body shop masking off cars and sanding down body filler for my Dad and my uncle, I never really got into the bodywork side. Motors were my passion so I stick with the mechanical stuff and let the professionals take care of the bodies. As you can see, She needed quite a bit of work. I am going with a 64 grill for now, But I would definitely like to check out your grill when you've got it completed.Keep me posted.

This is the plan. I found the original artwork on the web as a Ranchero and MS Paint modified it to resemble what I am after... Please do not mind the bad Paint mods. Photoshop is alien to me so this is gonna have to do LOL...

A while back I saw a 64 Fairlane done something like the drawing. It had a 428 Fe with a 5 speed in it. I think drive your car would be some thing like driving my old Cobra.Never drove a carthe started, stopped, and turned so fast. The Falcon will be a monster.

I just looked at your post on Sally. That's one sweet hauler.Ilike Koni shocks. I've had some problems with Bilstein shocks. On my Cobra two out of four shocks broke. They finally did a recall. I went with Koni shocks and found that they performed much better than the Bibstein shocks. The Bilstein's rode hard and I got wheel hop. The Koni's gave me a better ride and I got no wheel hop no matter how hard I jumped on it.Roger

I have Konis on my 67 prodriver and I love them... Built like brick outhouses.. and they respond quickly with the fiberglass springs which makes for a nice ride even when "Spirited" driving. 'Sally is designed to use off the shelf bits I'd be able to locate in timbuktu. 'Sally's number one job will be interstate dog transport for rescues so she has to remain serviceable on the road. Konis just weren't in the budget or build parameters. But yeah, if the Bilsteins give me ANY trouble, I'll probably upgrade. I'd rather just run DA coilovers like Coop, but that defeats the serviceability that I'm after... Sorry, haven't had my pot of coffee yet... Late night on the ol' PC

Loving the falcon excitement here. Don’t see much talk about the falcons in this forum, or as much as I would like. I’m all for modifying these things. Way too light and cool looking to be sticking with stock crap. Here’s mine with a 408, on 17’s and air bag ride suspension.

Thanks guys.. the engine compartment is nothing pretty to look at and a lot has been cut to shoehorn it in. I’m currently trying to redo a lot of the engine compartment and clean it up. Gauge cluster has been changed to a stock dash setup, air bag valves are taken off for a bluetooth setup.
