hello. my galaxie's leather interior has gotten some of what i assume is mold on the interior over the years, probably my fault as i will be finding a dryer place to store it this weekend.
anyway is there a product than can stop the spread and clean it up or am i goimg to have to foot the bill for a new interior before i'm done (ouch!! don't want to do that). i'm not to picky as the car isn't expected to be show quality.

thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure how to actually get rid of the mold but I do know sulpher kills mold and mildew and stope it from spreading. You could possibly use a sulpher vaporizor inside your car and let it run for an hour or two. or mold killing lysol

just a suggestion....

Wow. Interesting idea. Problem is, doesn't sulfur smell a bit like rotten eggs? And doesn't it linger for a while? For what it's worth, eau de Skunk is a sulfur based aromatic.

You guys need to quit kidding the inquisitives. Someday one of them is going to try your suggestion and be royally PO'd at you.

Check with a local DryCleaner/Laundry or Leather cleaning service near you. i'll bet they have a good recommendation. I'd say your right about a DRIER place to store the car.

sulphur does smell like rotten eggs but will air out within a few hours. It would only take like 15 to 20 minutes though. My guess is thats not enough time to leave a lingering smell.

disclaimer was this is only a suggestion and I have not tried it personally....

sounds like psivory has a better idea though

psivory and norcal5oo are onto something with the sulphur thing. i don't have any sulphur but living on a farm in rural iowa i do have access to a skunk. caught one last night and shoved it in the old galaxie, locked him in and slammed the door. mold is dead as hell this morning only problem is he won't come out without a fight and me and the dog can't stop thorwing up from the smell
.

just kidding of coarse. actually i think i'll follow the link and stop by the dry cleaners for some advice also.

seriously thanks to everyone for the advice, i'm sure it's all well intentioned.

p.s. interior is going from the barn to the house. i may be asking for some marital advice next.

Well, I can't blame the skunk for putting up a fight when you tried to evict him. Personally, I put up a fight too when somebody tries to get me out of my Galaxie. I only come out for showers and potty breaks (and then only when the milk jug is full)!
