1964 4 door. When I pull the light switch out to parking light selection, the parking lights work. When I pull it out to headlights, the parking lights go out. The turn signals work and all, just no parking lights with headlights on.

Any reason for this?

I just found this on my 67 gal this morning.... possibly correct?

I believe you'll find that this is correct. It was that way on my '65 GTO also. I changed it so the parking lights stay on, but I don't think its the same on Fords.

No other than thats the way the companies had them wired.... The Parking lights on with headlights was a late 60's early 70's deal. Not for sure what the year was exactly.

1968 I believe. They went with marker lamps also.

69 was the last year for that, as I found out while getting my 69 cougar inspected years ago... the senior mechanic overruled a noob who was going to fail me..

Yeah, I am almost positive that the 68 year for Ford is the blanket marker light beginnings, just as it was for Mopar for 68, they all started having them. Probably a Fed Reg.

I think you're correct, my 68 Bonneville is that way.
