I have wanted to try this for some time using banding on my motor mounts to keep them from seperating when they crack. If these work out ok I will try stainless banding next time. Couldnt get but one picture to load for some reason.

Curious why you wouldn't just go with custom if you are having problems with stock type mounts. Do a street rod style mount.

Not having issues. This is just back up to prevent seperation.

also could use large hose clamps or get mounts with safety pins/hooks built in

We used to just drill a hole through them and stick in a 5/16 bolt and nut.

It is common to mod SB mounts with a pan head through bolt for retention, though you can buy them made that way (pic 1). Also, the laterstyle ('70+) mounts have a cross-strap to retain the engine even if the rubber is completely gone (pic 2). I generally use the later mounts and I don't have to use a limiter strap or chain.
