I do not have an interchange manual handy. Will a Flaming River steering box designed for the 1970 Mustang work as a replacement for a 1970 Torino?

To my understanding, the Torino and mustang were pretty much very similar, except for the torino being wider; If the mounting and bolt pattern specs the same you should be fine in theory.

I just checked my Ford parts interchange and it shows the 70 mustang box to have part # C7ZZ3504F with a 6 3/16 input shaft. (67-70 Mustang and cougar with 16:1 ratio)

The 70 Torino shows part #C5OZ3504B with a 7 3/16 input shaft (68-71 Torino, Montego and Falcon)

FWIW - Torino shares parts with the Fairlane line, not the Mustang.
