Well my car is in the shop. The doors are being shaved. I replaced the right fender , so the antena hole will be filled too.
The AUTO LOC pop door kit was e-z to install and is working great. The power window kit was an easy install too, but I was not to happy with the way they worked. They were real slow , so off they came . No biggie.
After the paint poll post, I am debating on repainting it. I like the retro black , but it gets dirty fast. We'll see.
I am having a big issue with posting pictures, I hope to sort it out so I can post some.
I got a new carpet kit , plan on installing lowering blocks and the air shocks when I get her back.

Yeah, mine is comin' too finally. The body is 99% squared, in that all the seams are aligned and gaps etc. The body mounts are all welded in place and the final stuff begins. It hopefully won't be long before she's painted, like 2 months or so. I'm the only guy my painter has that pays so that helps get mine done. Almost everything to be put on the car is either bought or refinished so it'll be a matter of bolting on and done. It's been a long time comin' and still a while away. Next car... I'll know lots more, so it'll be done alot sooner.

Thanks brother, she'll be a car someday. I've owned it 10 years and finally it's happening. But it takes a long time for a great ride, sparing no expense, and doing it right. I would feel pretty bad if I knew I could have done it better or cheaped out.

Yea I totaly agree with doing it right. I wish I could afford to do more , but my buddget for the 64 is limited. I've been able to get what I needed off of Craigslist, EBAY and swap meets, I've done most of the work myself, except the trans rebuild and paint.Thats kept cost down.
I look forward to seeing your car .

Patience man, even after it's all done, I still will have to learn how to post pics, but that day will come. Depending on how far away it is, I will be at different car shows in the states, especially the Galaxie nats, as the one in 05 in Dearborn MI was incredible. I was so pumped to see it that close, and at a great location, as well as bieng minutes from Ford HQ. All you guys and girls(???) rule, thanks for tips and replies. Likewise sleepysal, bring on the pics when all is sorted out.

Sounds good sleepy, I thought about the door popper kit too. Do you have a secret button in case you loose your keys? What about if your battery dies? Does it have an emergency backup?

I work in security and i thought a prox card system would be ultra pimp. a transmitter in the car can read a card from several inches away and controll a relay if if the card is authorized. Ive only ever seen it in commercial buildings though... Pipe dreams.

as far as patience goes, i just kept telling myself before i even got started, this is going to be a multi year project. and its going to take a long time before i get to drive the thing. If i didnt have that frame of mind id get too upset to even work on it.

keep up the good work.

Sal, took a trip to Ohio today and got all the trim for my 64, all the aluminum from Joe's Rust Emporium, beautiful stuff. If you need something like that, see him. This was a huge step forward. Sounds awesome with this popping door business. Good luck to ya, and it takes class and originality to own a Galaxie, wouldn't ya'll agree. Let's keep em going.
