Here’s my 66 Fairlane 500XL I spent 7 years building. Started life a 390/C6 car. Dad bought it running and driving with a 406 in 2001 for $1500 (if only they were still that cheap) but she did have quite the rotten body.
I started cutting the cancer out of it in 2012 and finished it in 2019. Was supposed to be done on my 16th in 2015 but ended up doing a lot more work to it. 429 (391whp 460wt), TKO600 5 speed, Rod and Custom Motorsports front end, 70 Cyclone GT dash swap.
Wanted it to look mostly stock and original from a distance then when you got close to it you could see all that was done. Went with the original burgundy and burgundy color combo
