I had posted a problem I was having regarding vibrating in the engine..especially under load etc. In my Ford Manual it describes similar conditions happening when the main bearings are starting to go. My question is...if the problem is the main bearings...would I feel the vibrating problem while the car is in neutral or park? I do have an OIl pressure guage and haven't seen any fluctuations in the oil pressure

You might check all the flex or flywheel bolts and look at your damper. See if the rubber has gone bad and it's moved the outer ring.

Whatever book you read about a vibration in the engine coming from bad main bearings is kind of silly....

If your mains were "going out" you'd hear it rather than feel it and when warmed up there would likely be a noticeable low end noise and possible an oil pressure fluctuation.

Vibration from bad bearings is something I'm not falling for....
