Need Advice - Poor Shifting AOD

How afraid should I be? Going to look at a 91 5.0 with AOD. Owner says it doesn't want to shift into 2nd when cold. Recent engine rebuild; says the trottle cable is adjusted properly. I know nothing about AODs. Can anyone let me know the right questions to ask, things to look at? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Assume that the tranny will need rebuilt and price the car as such. If the owner balks, tell him to fix it if he thinks its an easy repair.



BTW ask him how he "knows" the TV cable is adjusted properly.
