1966 mustang with green dot cruse o matic C4 tranny..
I just had my tranny rebuilt and it went forward for a couple days now it doesn't. The guy that rebuilt it said there was a rod in the valve body that was sticking. So he removed this rod and sanded it with some wet dry sand paper. It drove forward for another day ... then same problem. If i were to buy another valve body from say a 1970 and newer c4 valve body will it work... or any suggestions would be helpful as i don't have much knowledge on working on transmissions. I am having a hard time finding a replacement also

Take the tranny back to the idiot that rebuilt it and have him do it right. That's the best answer anyone can give.

There is NO EXCUSE for having a sticky valve in a newly built tranny.
your right... But for some reason i cant seem to find that person anywhere?

A 67 VB will have a different shift pattern but still fit.

The "green dot" will be 2nd gear only.

Small dot will be the drive position.
