I just got the 1966 Galaxie you saw on the Garage section.
I want to put body color steel wheels and the factory dog dish caps on it.
I have a mint pair of 15 x 5 factory steel wheels for the front already and I want to run the MT Sportsman front tires on them.
But,here is the question?
For the back I want to go as wide as possible without sticking out at all.
I know backspace will be important to get it just right.
I have some 15 x 8 Weld Rodlites 4 1/2 backspace set up with some 28 x 10.50 x 15 MT Sportsman Pros here already,so I guess the first move would be to put them on the Galaxie and see how they fit?
My plan is to have the rear wheelwells filled up but not sticking out,I want them tucked under the car.
Do you guys think a 15 x 8 would be about the perfect size for the combo?
I have to have the rims made custom so I have to get it right the first try.
Also do you guys like the idea of the all steel body color wheels, Skinny-Wides with the factory 1966 Ford stainless dog dish hubcaps.
I want to make the car look like a old super stock drag car,so it will also get a glass teardrop hood and era correct vintage looking decals.
What ya thinking?
