I need to replace a rubber seal on my AOD. it is the seal that fits on the gear selector arm (not the right name) - the thing that comes pokes out of the case. would be used to connect the shifter linkage to the trans and select which gear the trans is in.

If I could get a name of that piece, or that seal, it would help me greatly. Or a part number for the seal would be good.

Thanks.

I seem to recall there being a shaft within a shaft on the aod.
The inner shaft is for the throttle pressure and the outer shaft is for the gear selector.
They both have seals on them. SO, Why do you want to replace the seals?

I forgot to subscribe to this post, didn't realize I had a few repiles.

I traded a C4 to a buddie for the AOD. He was running it with an aftermarket floor shifter and said that it came with a new "gear selector arm" thing. Sorry, don't know the technical term. We dropped his trans, he gave me the orig. piece and asked me for the old one back. He said he somehow mangled the old one - it was leaking a little around that seal.

Guess I could take the piece to a trans shop and ask for the seal that fits around it.

I stopped by an AAMCO transmission shop. They gave me the seal free, nice people.

Thanks for the advice guys.
