That sucks royally. Had a drunk in some squatty foreign car hit my brother-in-law's Torino when it was parked in front of the house in Houston. Did it right in front of a cop. Totaled the small car, only bent the bumper a bit on the Torino and knocked it about 1/4 block. The guy hit the Torino square in the azz at about 35 MPH, never hit the brake.

That same thing happened to my friend -the house im living in now- and it took out 4 trucks total, the guty left work at 3 in the morning and punched it, he never let off of the gas , the '70 f-250 was the first to slow his 85 m.p.h. jaunt on this street...... the neighbors toyota was the last.... they were all totalled and the f-250 was IN the cab of the other f-250, yeesh.

I knew a guy in Fontana who completely restored his 65 Shelby GT 350.....parked it on the street in front of his house for 20 minuites when some clown (probably an illegal immigrant) came flying down the street at 100 mph and lost control of his car and slammed directly into the Shelby.
The Shelby was literally ripped to shreds...looked like when a big airliner crashes and throws pieces all over the place.
There were parts of his car that were thrown halfway down the block!!
What really sucks is that the guy who crashed, ran away from the scene, and the car he was driving was stolen.

Yeah that kind of crap seems to happen a TON in good old Fontana. I used to live in Rialto. My dad had a 78 trans am that was Totaled by two illegals that had no insurance. They got out and ran from the scene!! Took the whole front end off the T/A and my dad just got done painting it 10 months earlier.

That is just sad, real sad!!! The '64 I got the quarter panel off of had the same thing happen. Parked on the street in Santa Clarita and was rearended which rammed it into the I think pickup, that was in front of it. The doors and the one quarter panel was the only real good body parts on it after that.

I was just checking to see if the pics were still in the same place of the '64. They weren't. But this was one of the things i said.

Looks more like demo work rather than Nascar. That is so sad. Hope the people were at least law abiding. Not that it would make me feel any better if it were mine

The sadder part is this happened in Feb/04, in Sept/04 mine was crunched. A few months after that I saw parts from the rearended '64 on ebay and got the quarter panel from it.
I guess, if i ever get it on my car, at least a few parts will live on. I also got the gas tank and rearview mirror.
At least mine isn't a total loss. Those look like they are doomed.

They will hate you if you leave the car in the garage to protect it and say "whats the point if you dont drive it" or say " Its just a trailer queen" ... I think trailer queens look better cause there not twisted up.

My car is in the garage when I'm not driving it.... and it's definitely no trailer queen! I was out beating the sh*t out of it yesterday, as a matter of fact.

I DO feel for the guys that don't have a decent place to keep their cars, though. It would make me very paranoid to have to keep my car out on the street. I did it with the mustang when in college, and for a while afterwards. Nerve racking.

Don't hate me! But the other day I saw a 59 El Camino in the parking lot of a store and stopped to take a pic. I carry my camera everywhere and get pics of old cars, any make when I see them if I can. I asked the guy next to it if he minded me taking a pic of what I assumed was his 'hotrod'. He said go ahead but it ain't too perty. I told him then that I'd much rather see one that's driven and enjoyed than one that rode around on a trailer all the time. It was a rough one with a little rust, faded worn out paint etc. But he loved it. He bought it in 1970 then at one point gave it away and the man he gave it to gave it back to him even. Guess that one's not going anywhere.

If a person does have a nice car it sure doesn't pay to park it almost anywhere. People out there don't respect anything and like to bang them wtih doors or write on the dust if their dusty, run the grocery carts into them etc. Mine isn't nothing great, especially now but I still don't want someone adding to it's 'problems'. In fact it's not even safe in my garage really but at least it's me causing any damage then.
