Hello all,

I have a 1963 Mercury Comet with a 170cu in engine, and I'm fairly certain the carburetor is dying. It has the stock Autolite 1100, and recently it has been stalling out the car, making strange whistling sounds when driving, and overall just not working well. It was "rebuilt" by a local garage already, but less than a year later and its failing again.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here would have any recommendations on a new carb. I've found that O'Reilly's has a re-manufactured 1100 from Tomco, and I've also found Champion Carburetors has the same thing, and both are within $10. Anyone have any good or bad experiences from either company, or would I be better off with a different carb all together? Don't really want a manual choke, though, and the best modern option I've found has just that.

Any advice will really help, thanks!
