I just picked up this E-Brock F-427 intake off e-bay for the Galaxie.

I got this intake for free!

Well sort of free?

I was going to run a original Shelby lettered Sidewinder that I picked up a while ago but ended up selling it for way more than I paid for it!

I bought this e-brock intake with the profit from selling the Shelby intake.

It was not a easy sale to make.

I knew that Shelby intake was real rare and worth big $$$$ but,it went to a collector that needed it to make his car correct.

I figure it was better to have that intake go on a correct car than on my Galaxie anyway?

But,I made a great profit on the intake when it sold so I did'nt give it away.

The money I made in profit paid for the e-brock intake and 427 pentroof valve covers!

Even these e-brock F-427 intakes are not easy or cheap to get and it will be more era correct to my 66 Galaxie than the Shebly intake was.

I'm not sure what carb I'm running on it yet?

I have that new 750 BG Claw carb in the picture that I could use or a 780 vac sec Holley or a 750 DP Holley I have laying around here?

I might try a couple different ones out and see how the car likes them.

I have to take the intake in to get bead blasted and cleaned before it goes on.

Should be on in a week or so?

I'll post pics of the new combo then.

Looks great Tom! Just think of the weight you're taking off the front of that car, intake alone! (gawd I can remember hoisting those anchors over fenders not too long ago). (the intakes).....

Seriously, looks gnarly!

Those pentroof vc's are so cool! Are you gonna get one of those 427 w/eagle wings decals to put on them? That intake ought to really wake up the ole FE (not that it was sleeping to begin with)...

Just got back from the engine shop after having the intake cleaned.

I glass bead blasted it and then ran it in the hot spray jet washer for 20 minutes.

I turned out real nice and almost looks new.

This intake should help the Galaxie out quite a bit with power.

I'm not sure what decals if any will be put on the pentroof covers yet?

I'll post some pics when I get the intake and carb on the car.

I was thinking it would be more era correct to run a old style Holley carb on this combo?

I have a 780 vac sec dual feed on the car now and a extra 750 DP Holley in the basement.

I like the idea of the old stlye Holley on the Galaxie better also because both of the other carb I could run have chokes on them.

The 780 vac sec has a electric choke and the 750 DP has a manual choke.

I will see about maybe having one of these older style Holley carbs sent to BIGS to be rebuilt and set up for the car?

What ya think?

I also have a new chrome FOMOCO HI-PO air cleaner that I will use with the tallest K&N filter I can fit under the hood on the car.

I figure a 4-5 inch filter should clear the teardrop hoods raised section?

I will do some figuring once the intake and carb are on the car.
