Hey all! My name is Sean and i am new to the Forums.

I inherited a 1973 Torino 2dr cpe (code 65d) from my Father in law this week. He purchased the car from a little old lady 15 yrs ago. At that time it had 38K miles on the clock. Fast forward to today, and it has 71K on the odometer.

It has a 351C 2v with a FMX i think? (Trans code is X) and a 9in Rear. It was born in the Atlanta plant in August of 1973. It features original pastel Blue with the factory laser stripe. Interior is original.

Only mods done by the wifes old man were; ****y cragar wheels (soon to be replaced, more on that later) , AC removed and a 4bbl edelbrock preformer carb/intake and 3' Stainless exhaust with flowmasters.

I will have plenty of questions in the comming days/weeks, so please be patient. i think i added some picture attachments.

Signing off for now..............Sean

not to worry, no 20's are going on this car. i cant stand 20's .

the thought now is polished american racing Torque thrust II's or Magnum 500's........the verdict is still out yet.

Yea, i would like to do some more digging to find out how scarce a combination this is .

I definately havent seen one like it before. The care has NO rust and has been in Oregon, indoors for most/all of its life. It currently sits in Vancouver, Wa.

I am debating on what type of Wheels to put on it.

YOU ALL CAN HELP! What wheels should i get?

CHOICE #1- 15x7,15x8 Magnum 500's

CHOICE #2- American Racing Polished Torque Thrust II's

Help me decide. Or if you have a 73 cpe with either, lets see it.....

Thanks!!! Sean

Personally I love the magnums and its what I thought of as soon as I saw your car...People may say they are overdone but they have a correct factory look no matter what they are on and they are just a great looking wheel...

IMO, i would go with something other than magnums or AR 5 spokes, since they are on everything from volkswagons to camaros. not saying that either wheels looks bad, and its not my car, so my opinion doesnt really count for anything, it is YOUR choice after all.

I would go with something that would give it a period style like turbines or keystone klassics. ive got western cyclone (turbine) wheels on my 68, and ive saw them on 72-73 torinos before and they look good, and they would look good all polished up with your cars paint scheme.

Once again, just my opinion, i try not to force my ideas/opinions upon others, just put my 2 cents in.

No PROBLEM! Opinions are what i asked for! Im trying to rack my brain and remember all of the cool wheels that i used to see on big american cars back when i was a kid (im 40 now!).

If you run across something different, shoot me a pic. I havnt settled this debate by a long shot.

Go for the Ansen Spirits from American Racing, they look just like the old slot mags but are available in 17" and 18", personally I'd go with the extra wide 17" and put more rubber on 'em to fill in those huge wheel wells :)

Great looking car ! The 73 front end has really grow on me the last couple years --- starting to really like 'em .
Wheels n tires will make or break the look and attitude of a car . I've played with them alot over the years . You have to decide what look and attitude you want the car to have . Magnums are always guaranteed to look good . I'll try to post some pics of different wheel/ tire combos for ya .

+1 Ansen Sprint slot mags.

I wanted those for my 73, but at the time, they weren't making them yet and finding a good set of used ones is almost impossible.

I got a set of 15 x 7 Ultra wheels for my 73.
