Hi, I have a 1960 convertible Thunderbird. I am in the process of doing an overhaul and would like to install a rebuilt engine, Ford 351 or 390.

I would say 390 simply because there were many made.
And parts source would be more plentiful,, as far as finding brackets and other hard parts, Good luck

I would say the 390.If you are taking it out to rebuild, you already have all the brackets and mounts to reinstall. Plus the 390 has a fair amount of torque in stock trim. With a little help ,it can be made to push the old bird along pretty good.If you don't have the 390 motor in it a 429 or 460 would really warm the bird up. But would cost a bit more.Roger
