I was a previous member here but forgot my name over the winter because of school. Allow me to say I am 19, living at home (kinda)in Aurora, Colorado. My engine has taken 1.5 years and will take more until I am ready for my 351W (money

Here is the list:
1. Remfg. 390 FE Checker engine (.030 over?)
2. 750 Holley DP or 600 Vac. Sec.
3. Stock 4V cylinder heads (for now)
4. 268H Comp Cam Lift: .494 i/e Dur: 218 @ .050
5. Edel Per. RPM intake manifold
6. 1 5/8 Headman Headers
7. Miscellaneous: ign, wires, plugs etc. undecided
I would really appreciate any help for torque/hp figures. I've read that the late 60's 390s made around 427 lb/ft and 330 hp (gross numbers of course) What should I expect? After porting heads or replace with alum heads? Thank you.

From your stock heads? Id say about 300-315hP. Now if you replace the heads with some mild ported Edelbrocks id say clase to 370. And go with the 700Holley DP! That is if gas milage isnt a must.

Dont spend any more money on that FE!!! Save your hard earned money for that WINDSOR...if built decently, it will destroy a 390 FE, stock or built.
