I just bought this ram manifold for my 289

the holleys are 450cfm's. what heads/cam do you guys think would work well with this manifold?? im going to be running 10.5 or 11 to 1's with an automatic and 4.11 gears in a 65 comet. I know stock ford heads do not flow good. Im looking to make around 400 hp if that is possible. Any info will help thank you

Some nice aftermarkets like afr's or tfs heads. I have the ford racing turbo swirl gt 40 heads, and with a little porting and a little more cam .they could make 400 hp on a 302. That manifold is too cool. I would run it even if it lost some power. Keep in mind those crossrams are pretty hard to tune, so get it on a good dyno when the day comes.

Yeah im definately going with 2 carbs, im definately more about looks as this is a street car, i would have no clue where to find a single carb top for this thing anyway as i can not find any info on this manifold as it is. Another question i have is can you guys tell by the pictures if i will need a special distributor to clear the water jacket and if i do what do you guys recommend?? thanks

That's awesome! Is there a port/tube connecting the two plenums? If so, that should help make it easier to tune. Definitely rates high on the coolness meter!

I would love to have one of those for a 351. I would trade my wife for one. Thinking more about it, I would trade her for a picture of one.

WOW, that thing is up to $900.00! You've got a really nice and probably rare piece there. If it's anything like the Edelbrock FX-8 cross ram which I have then it isn't hard to tune at all and makes excellent low end power due to the very long runners going all the way form one side to the other and has great throttle response. I had a pair of Holley 390's on mine which was on an very mild 302 with 8.0:1 and a rv type cam.

I ran an Edelbrock FX/8 in the 80's Went Ok, Single 4 on a Weiand Excelerator was actually faster, But lacked the WOW.
