Well I sold my 72 Comet GT. Went to a good home and he had been looking for just that car and color for a long time.
So now we have a new one. This one I saved from the crusher in Cali. 1 owner, actually was a "little old lady". She is gone and I got it from her 80 yr old son. Had to bring it back over Donner Pass in the winter. Oh baby.
This is the 2nd Zephyr (yellow one) I've owned. 1st one,(blue one I ordered from Mercury) is still on the road, or I should say drag strip, now with a 541 in it replacing the 460 I put in it.
So this one is going to get a 351W.

What helicopter?
Actually my daughter and grandson I didn't know about until 1 year ago. Her mother didn't tell me about her when we met while she was still in the Army. Funny how things come back around. This Zephyr was built the same time my first one was. I'll have to find out how close the VINs are. My oldest son also born the same year, 10 months later, then my daughter.
Careful what you wish for.
I'm still looking for a 351W and C-4. Getting harder to find. I'd even travel back east a ways to get the right set up.

I have a '69 351W I pulled running from a driver (tired but good) and I have a couple V8 C4s around here somewhere. PM if any interest.

Never used Craig's List. Might have a 460 and C-6 lined up for her. Then I'll leave her exterior the same way it is now. Real sleeper.

Thing about tearing these cars apart in the winter, I don't worry about spiders, hornets or snakes. To cold for them. Had to pull this one out of the dirt and brought some home with me.
Amazing there's even an engine in there with an A/C, smog pump, cruise control, and all the smog hoses and tubing. My first 82 from Denver was much simpler. Then there's the mold. How about that heavy duty battery from Ford?

If this is more of a streeter daily, I'd look at the challenge of keeping most of the stock stuff and doing the power adder thing for kick-ass fun. 300+hp in that light chassis on pump gas and AC has some kind of attractive charm… for me anyway. I guess I've seen so many "typical" build-ups, a challenge like that could have some impressive results. A wicked sleeper when everybody does the big V8 thing. I guarantee you'll get more jaw-drops when you lift the hood than a 385 or LS! Just an idea. Do your thing!

Those years are the worst. Peak of the EPA restrictions before all the magic went inside an ECU. Vacuum hoses and valves and all kinds of compromises that got solve quickly with EFI. After working for years on the increasing complexity, I was amazed when I looked under the hood of my brand new 1986 Tempo that only had 1 vacuum line that went to the MAP sensor.

Oh, I would definitely clean it all up with a home-brew EFI. Probably coil packs also, but distributor would be a good look for it. Mostly stock-look with that blue turbo or SC in the corner. :sneaky:
