I am making new steel lines for my transmission. I a planning to splice the lines with one compression fitting on each line. Will they pass NHRA tech? I think I read where Greg Cook said to double clamp transmission lines? Is it a better bet to us a section of hose and double clamp or would the compression fittings be better?

Double clamping lines isn't a NHRA rule but some tracks like ours require it. If you do use rubber to connect it, use the proper hose & slightly flare the ends to help keep the hose on.

I like inverted flares fittings, like brake lines, better than compression couplings. Also, a double flare is less prone to splitting than a single flare and only takes a few moments longer to complete.
