The crank in my engine is stock, and seems to work just fine. I would be hesitant to purchase a $160 Chinese 'nodular' iron crank. All Ford 302 cranks were the same. The 289 hipo crank was supposed to have a higher 'nodularity' but Ford never made any special 302 cranks, except for the steel Boss 302 unit.
In my opinion, the stock iron 302 crank is the strongest cast crank I've ever seen...I ran one the last 4 seasons, each pass 8500+ rpm. Probably had a million passes on that motor and no problems at all. Just get good rods if you plan to spin it that high
