I need some help for the "next step" in modifying my Gran Torino.

List of stuff DONE on my Gran Torino:
rebuilt & overbored 351 4V CJ (2000 miles)
> high lift crane cam
Ignition upgrade
> 8.5mm MSD Super Conducter wires
> MSD 6A
> Magnetic pickup distributor
Edelbrock 4V performer intake
Edelbrock 750CFM 4bbl carb
Hedmen 4V Hedders
Stage II shift kit for C6
Richmond Lock Rite (9" 28 spline)
Royal Purple 10w/30 (100hp + lol )
3000 rpm TCI stall
Ram Air
Hurst Quarter Stick

What can I do next to add some extra HP ??

I'm thinking about an electric fan upgrade, but can't think of nothing else.

Help.

Ok have a good valve job done, port the exhaust side of the heads, put a better cam and lifters in along with the Crane stud kit for your haeds and roller rocker arms. Windage tray and new oilpump and driveshaft. Timing chain also, installed straight up.

Forgot about the gears. I have 3.25's right now, and have been thinking about 3.73's. I have a 3 spd C6. Thing is, I had 3.73s a while back and it revved way too high on the highway, so maybe 3.55's are in order.

Also, I have the original closed chamber Cleveland heads, so there is no need to do ANY work there. The size of my intake valves are killer huge.

As for the timing, I have a nice set of true rollers in the beast.

Thanks guys for the input!

the exhaust on the 4bbl's could use a little help. There is no harm in smoothing the ports. You could put in a gear vendors overdrive too, then you could keep the 3.25's and still have some good off the line. But my vote is still for nitrous or a supercharger.

Gears for sure!
Do the electric fan. It frees up some horses and you can add an inline switch to turn it off and on whenever you want. It also looks cooler

Synthetic tranny fluid (+20HP) and
Synthetic diff. fluid (+10HP)

Check out the Ford transmission forum that I am appparently not allowed to link from here. It is on n-e-t-w-o-r-k-5-4. Some guys there advocate putting an E4OD gear set in a C6. The result is a wide ratio C6 with a lower first gear. A 3.25 rear end with the lower first is about equal to the 3.73's with the first you have now. Third is 1:1 in both cases so your highway revs stay accepatable. Broader Performance (the sponsor at the top of the trans forum) sells these or there is lots of d-i-y info on the forum.

You could consider a built AOD, too.

Get rid of the C-6 and go to a beefed up C-4 with a low first gear set. Keep the 3.25s You'll loose some weight, free up about 30 horses and the lower gear will get you off the line nicely and still have the 3.25 in final gear. Cleveland is the same bellhousing as 302s, 351Ws.
