the c4 i'm overhaulin' has a wicked shift kit in the valve body. my buddy has a stock one from a 66, it think.... the two look identical though. will the stock one work in the 72 i'm over hauling? both were pan fill.

Nope.
The detents are in a different position.
The bolt patterns are different.
The gear selection is different.

i thought so... looking at aftermarket ones, it looks like 68 and back are interchangable, and 69+ are interchangeable? does this fly with factory VB's as well?
