Parts Sources

I am looking to purchase some parts for my 65 Galaxie, fuel sending unit, ignition switch, etc. I live in Ontario Canada and the one local source we had has closed down, after the owner passed on and nobody in the family wanted to carry on with the business. At the moment I am spending a few months in Florida and was looking to order some parts and have it shipped here. When ordering parts from a USA supplier to be shipped to Canada the freight costs are way to high. Does anyone have any comments on US based classics parts suppliers. I have been looking at Dearborn Classics as one option. I also started to look at Auto Krafters, since they are near where I am staying. However, their web site does not seem to be working and the only parts I can find from them are on ebay, not sure if that it them or a reseller.
Anyone have any thoughts suggestions that might aid me. Thanks.

AutoKrafters and MAC, who I believe is owned by Ecklers(who also owns Dearborn, so all the same) are the 2 companies that I use thus far. Ebay, yes, you will see those same vendors out there selling, sometimes their Ebay price is cheaper than their own website prices. Also, think outside the box- I have used Mustangs America for my dash pad, and paid less going though them, since they are the ones who actually produce the dash pads for my 66 LTD.

I also will use other Mustang vendors to see if their prices are better than AutoKrafters or MAC on common shared parts.

And, my local NAPA auto store still carries most of the parts I need.

Thanks for the response. I thought there might be overlap between some of these vendors. Your suggestion to look at other vehicle vendors, e.g. Mustang, is good and I will look into that. I do use NAPA for some basic parts needs, as like you say the do carry many of these. The current things that I am looking for include fuel sending unit, ignition switch and a 390 decal for the breather; my 352 was replaced with a 390 but I still have the original breather. The ignition switch is one of those parts that I might be able to source from NAPA in Canada. Again, thanks for you input.

Two great sources for N.O.S. parts (New Old Stock) /O.E.M. (Original Equipment Manufacture) are www.rearcounter.com and www.nospartsltd.com These two sites have many hard to find parts. You have to have the Ford part number to search, though, but Rodney at www.nospartsltd.com is a great guy, very helpful, too. I've bought many parts from him.

Just a quick update. I did order parts from Dearborn Classics; they were shipped from Ecklers Automotive here in Florida, where I am staying. Not a major order, just an Ignition Switch, a 390 Air Cleaner Decal and a Gas Tank Sender Lock Ring & O-ring. The parts came in within 4 days and the shipping was reasonable, especially compared to what I would have paid to ship into Canada. Everything looks good but of course the real determination will be when I am back and can get at the car again this Spring. Thanks for everyone's input and suggestions.
I've ordered some parts from dearborn classics and everything went smoothly.
