Does anybody know if you can swap pedestal rockers over to heads that are machined for screw in studs? The converse question would be the same too. Can you put screw in studs, guideplates and adjustable rockers straight across on heads that are set up for pedestal type rockers?

Why would I want to do this? I have a set of ported 302 heads I'm putting together that are machined for screw in studs and guideplates. I transferred the roller rockers, studs and guideplates over to my race heads so these heads are bare. The motor I'm building right now is just an F150 pickup 302 for my trailer hauler and it won't see the other side of 5500 rpms. I'm on a budget and I already have a good set of pedestal rockers and pushrods.

soory man, when the heads were machined for screw-in studs, the pedestals wereprobably machined flat. if you don't need roller rockers, i'd think of going to the boneyard and finding a set of stockers
