(Not really) Pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name...
I am Bill Ballinger from Bonne Terre, MO, about an hour out of St Louis, and a little less than that from Dave McClain's shop in Cuba, MO for those who are familiar with the area.
I have been a Ford freak all my life, at age 45 I feel very fortunate to have seen the Fords go from red headed stepchildren to real contenders. I have run the FE for many of my years, building the combination cheap enough that I can afford to split them open. I am a little on the cheap side. I am turning on to the 385 series, especially after seeing Trace's car
run so good.
I have a '65 LTD 2dr ht w/ tired 352 Cruiso that I have decided will be getting a 466 and likely a 'Glide. We have an 1/8the mile down south and I'd like to see it run mid 7s. The frame was completely rusted out, so I, my son, and a fellow named Nathan Drake swapped another one in in one day. That was a killer. It has a presentable paint job on it now, and we've been through the body and all the suspension and brakes. Very tight car now.
I also have a '65 F250 4X4 with the original geartrain and a heated up 390 that I absolutely love. It is one of the most fun things you can ride
Anyway, I like this forum and thank you to the folks who have already extended a welcome to me.
