I would highly suggest improving the stock suspension to prevent wheel hop. I just boxed my upper and lowers which did the trick. The PMT kit is pricey but very nice.

The PMT kit is pricey but very nice.I am starting to order suspension parts for my 69' Galaxie XL and have a question about the rear suspension. I have never driven the car as it went right into my shop for tear down, so I am not sure if this kit would be an improvement worth the investment?
420HP, C6 trans, and Posi added to the 9" rear end.
1965-74 FORD GALAXIE ADJUSTABLE REAR TRAILING ARM KIT
Just looking for opinions.
Thanks 289Galaxie - Based on your comment I went with the front sway and non adjustable rears from PMT. Appreciate your input.I have the PMT kit on my '67 but not the one you linked. I opted for the kit with the non-adjustable trailing arms. Build quality, fit and finish are all top-notch in my opinion.
My car is a convertible and even with a boxed frame and extra gusseting I could still feel a bit of body flex. Adding this kit in addition to the Hotchkis front sway bar made a big difference. I would have gone with the PMT front sway bar too but at the time the Hotchkis was much less expensive.
Both the PMT trailing arm kit and the Hotchkis front sway bar installed easily and were dead nuts on with no modification needed.

I wonder if you were sent some incorrect parts. As you can see in my pic, there's no clearance issues whatsoever.I have the same rear PMT suspension kit on my 67 convertible , my swaybar is pressing up against the rearend , no gap.
Interesting, see how the bar is pressing up against the diff…I wonder if you were sent some incorrect parts. As you can see in my pic, there's no clearance issues whatsoever.
No I don't and it doesn't. 🤷♂️Interesting, see how the bar is pressing up against the diff…
I just climbed under the car to get pics and measurements. With the car fully on the ground, there's approximately 2-1/4" clearance to the left and right of the center section. From the middle of the center section back (towards sway bar) there's approximately 1-1/4" clearance. Bouncing the car up and down made no difference.Without 1000 words or a picture I am now confused.
289s pictures show clearance. I’d like to see where Jon’s is hitting.
if there is any slop in the bolts of the bar to the lower arms I’d see if it can pull down before tightening.

There's really no play to speak of to make any adjustments and in my experience none is needed.
Second pic is with my phone against the center section looking down towards the floor.
This is exactly how mine looks on my 69'
I took most of the winter off and am now just starting to get back into it. On the hit list: Bleed brakes, exhaust and alignment. After that is paint and interior work. All of the PMT front upper/lowerr control arms are installed with dual adjustable coil overs. How's that coming along by the way?
You've made a lot of progress, your car is looking good. I hope you're planning to update your build thread once you get going again.
