I am in the process of porting a set of 429 heads (C8VE-E's) and am wondering about matching up the intake manifold ? I have a Edelbrock Torker intake and the ports are WAY smaller than my heads are. My question is should I open the ports on the intake to just a shade smaller than the heads ? How far into the port should I go ? It also looks kind of close on hogging out that much metal on the intake, will it hurt ? I don't want to ruin my intake so any help will be really appreciated. Thanks,
JD

I think most guys get the intake 1/8 to 1/16 smaller than the head. Since the intake can move fore-aft you'll need to make witness lines on the head and intake to keep in correct position.

Blend the intake back about 1" or so.
