I have a vibration comming from the rear on my 65 custom and I am wondering if I might have a bent axle,it is shaking when the brakes are applied so I bought new rear drums and its still the same so I am wondering if a bent axle will act like a out of round brake drum. I know its from the rear as it shakes when appling the emergency brake and I can feel the vibration through the floor shifter when braking and at over 60 when its at its worse. Jeff

Swap the tires from the back to the front? Could be a bad belt.

Or even a weight came off?

Brand new tires on the back,I would thought if I had a bent rim the installer would of said something when they were balanced,I am going to check for a bent rim and axle. Jef

Don't forget, even new drums (especially El' Cheapos-Spelled CHI-COM) may not be true.

Any peculiar tire wear? In addition to checking for a bent axle/axle flange, also check for a possible bent housing tube.
