Re: Post Pics of Ur Galaxie;s

how do you attach photos to post?
A lot of us use Photobucket.com It's fairly easy and gives you the links below each pic depending on where you are wanting to post it. I use it more than the one here, seems easier or more like all my pics are in one location no matter where I want to post them.

The good

The "other" side. :) Thought it would be fun to get the wedding party to "push" the heap out of the field. lol Kept the "top" up because i rained the day before and didn't want to jinx things and make it rain for the outdoor wedding.

Sadly Summer is over so the top comes up for the year.
Haven't put mine up yet but will have to eventually. I'll probably wait till it's rained a week and then have to do it in the garage where i can only get to one side of the car. I have to remove my weather stripping to tuck the "top" in on the sides or i can't drive it if i have to go 45 or more. Hate winter and miss when i didn't need a top period or could put it up and down when that good ol sun started peeking out for a day or two!

IS this an original ford color ?
I don't think so and it does seem to have that clear coat peel going on. It reminds me of the "beer bottle brown" that was so popular in the 70s. I'm sure some are old enough to remember that. It was the "IN" color when i was in high school. lol I really like that color as far as browns go though.

Some day I might have mine that high in the back. Long shackles in the 70s only caused the weak springs to bend down at the ends and plow the ground on bumps. Have new springs now and air shocks but need shock extenders as they aren't long enough. I just keep forgetting about them, except once i asked at autozone out of curiousity and they had them but just asked for future reference. Need to get the new springs and a-frame bushings in the front on there first then maybe. My front is already high, i sure hope the new springs don't make it even higher or it will look like there is no engine or a gasser or something! LOL Might be the twisty spacers that are making it so high now though.
Love the stance.

64galaxie514, love the orange. We have the wagon version and HT version in orange here. :)

Wow, that's bout as low as you can go without sitting on the ground. Cool pic nailz!

Lucidwray: Love the car and who can not want to keep a car that their kid thinks is the coolest car ever! Funny to think that roll up windows have disappeared with the 8 track player and many other things. Hadn't even thought of having to teach someone how to work a rolling window.

I just did that same thing on FB a couple days ago when my niece posted a few pics of cars at a show and cruise down the main drag in town which I always miss. She nabbed a pic of a '64 and i said hey i know that car and owner! But it was much more identifiable being silver with purple flames. Funny how we spot a car, even not obviously painted, that we will know.

Dad-bud, that is a perty car you have! That's the biggest drawback with them is the fuel. I got around 12 on the highway before swapping to 2.75 rearend now i get almost 15 and get about 12 with mixed driving. Not a huge jump from the original rearend but every mile counts! And a big jump from a 3.50 rearend! Even with power brakes you would need to "plan ahead" as you say. It can be changed over to disk brakes sometime down the road if you wanted. I have power and maybe i don't absolutely have to start slowing down as soon as i do, i do it anyway. What they lose in fuel consumption they gain in coolness. :)

Fordman, I don't know if that "work in progress" ever truly ends. Everything gets done and then, even if nothing is wrong, decides to go a different direction and the work begins again. :) I like em rough or not, they are still big ol Fords.

Kilbrie21: Welcome to the forum(i might of missed your first post), nice ride, cool on the shiney and be ready for spring when you get going on the other work!

Punch: I like that color! If i missed your first post, welcome to the forum!!

Re: pics

hdvictim, like that middle pic with water. What a cool way to get the "new" car home, a road trip. Barring no issues with the car which you didn't have. Just a fun trip or i would sure think it would be!!
