Just finished complete tune up. Rebuilt tri power Holley's. The 406 is running real strong now.
That's a great question, it currently has 255/55R18 with wrong offsets and 18x10 wheels - they are all wrong for the car, rub everywhere, was that way when we saved it. Best I can tell the original stock tires were G60-15 or G70-15.What are you running for wheels/tires?
I have the same wheels that were on the car when I bought it which are 15x7 American Racing Torq-Thrust II and the tires are 215/65R15. I'd like to go bigger some day and liked the look of yours. But now that you say they're rubbing everywhere, not so much. 😉That's a great question, it currently has 255/55R18 with wrong offsets and 18x10 wheels - they are all wrong for the car, rub everywhere, was that way when we saved it. Which translates to 235/60R15 (15x6.5 wheel) or 215/70R15 (15x6 wheel).
I'm looking to go to 17x7 or 17x8 wheels, so likely a 235/50R17 or 225/55R17 tires look to be more correct.
For wheels that's, TBD, looking at US Mags U102 / U104 / U107 or U108 - haven't decided if Black centers like current, gray or polished will look correct.
What tire size(s) & wheels are you using?
If that thing wasnt so pristine, I would probably have to suicide the back doors.1965 Galaxie 500 LTD Z code 390. 99% factory condition, just working on the engine and function of a few interior components before I move on to detailing. Nicest car I have, my 66 Fairlane and 67 Cougar are rough compared to this. Has some fun features like 6 way power bench seat, factory AC, cruise control, etc.
